Dethatching is an important lawn maintenance technique designed to remove the thick layer of thatch that accumulates on the soil surface over time. Thatch consists of dead grass, roots, and organic debris, which can inhibit water, air, and nutrients from reaching the soil. This buildup can lead to a variety of lawn problems, including poor growth, pest infestations, and increased susceptibility to diseases.
